Harry Kane 'Happy' He Chose Bayern Munich

Sep 19, 2023 10:57 AM

Harry Kane said he is "glad" he chose Bayern Munich rather than a move to Manchester United.

Kane left Tottenham Hotspur in a $124 million transfer and will face United on Wednesday in the Champions League.

"Obviously over the summer I know there were some talks between a few clubs in the background, but Bayern was a team I was really interested by and really excited by so there weren't many other discussions," Kane told a news conference in Munich on Tuesday.

"Once they came in, it was between them and Tottenham to talk and the deal got done. My focus is on here, obviously Manchester United are a great club, a really big club as well but I decided to come here and I'm really happy I have."

Birmingham City could hire Wayne Rooney if John Eustace departs the club.

Rooney's contract with DC United expires in December.

“We asked about a new deal,” Rooney told the Washington Post. “We can sit down and talk about it. We haven’t heard back. The fact we haven’t heard back is probably signalling one thing, but I’m sure they’ll have their reasons for that. So I’ll wait and see.”

Jadon Sancho's Future With United In Doubt After 'Scapegoat' Post

Sep 4, 2023 11:48 AM

The future of Jadon Sancho with Manchester United is in doubt following an issue with Erik ten Hag that has become public.

Sancho was left out of United's squad at Arsenal on Sunday. Ten Hag indicted Sancho had been dropped due to “his performances in training.”

Sancho wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that [are] completely untrue. I have conducted myself in training very well this week. I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into, I have been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!

“All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team. I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and [I’m] grateful to do so which I know every week is a challenge. I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what!”

Neymar: Messi And I Live Through Hell With PSG

Sep 4, 2023 11:45 AM

Neymar said he "lived through hell" alongside former teammate Lionel Messi during their time together at Paris Saint-Germain.

Neymar told Globo's Esporte Espetacular in an interview given in June that aired on Sunday: "I was very happy for the year he had, but at the same time very sad, because he lived both sides of the coin. He went to heaven with the Argentina team, won everything in recent years, and with Paris he lived hell, we lived through hell, both he and I."

Messi found it difficult to adapt to Paris and admitted in June that there was a "fracture with a significant group of the PSG fans" during his two seasons at the club.
